Birds on the Wires

Your schedule is chaotic. Your to-do list is futile. Your brain feels like it’s on a hamster wheel with only one speed – high.

And all you want to do is crash.

You want to stop. You want to rest. You want to take a break from crazy even if it’s just long enough to breathe in and breathe out.

But is that even an option? With your obligations, aspirations, responsibilities and dependents, can you afford to pause? And if you did land, even for a moment, can you still glorify God while you’re at rest?

Consider the birds and their audacity to linger on a branch or a wire in silence when their purpose is clearly to praise the Lord in song.

Birds on the Wires

How dare they stop flying? How dare they stop singing? Don’t they know that to take a break from pursuing their ultimate purpose is to miss an opportunity to glorify the Lord?

Or is it?

Could it be that the birds of the air have found a way to make music for the Lord even when they’re not singing?

Birds on the Wires from Jarbas Agnelli on Vimeo.

It turns out the potential for music exists even in the silence. Even when you’re still, you can praise Him. Even when you rest, you can glorify Him. Even when you land, you can land in such a way that your soul is still making music for the Lord. “Ask the birds of the heavens, and let them tell you” (Job 12:7 NLV).

How will you land well?

Yes!!!! It’s in the quietness, the stillness, that we can see & hear Him in all His magnificent glory. And, I love how He uses the fish, fowl & animals to teach us, make us smile & warms our hearts.
